Leftists and NYC Mayor Rush to Blame “White Supremacists” After ISIS-Inspired Bombing of Anti-Islam Protest Before the Truth Comes Out
COMMUNIST INSURGENCY IN AMERICA

The script is always the same.
When two young men threw homemade bombs at an anti-Islam protest outside New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s residence at Gracie Mansion on March 7, 2026, the leftist media and political class immediately reached for their favorite villain: “white supremacists” and “far-right extremists.”
Mayor Mamdani and progressive outlets framed the attack as violence coming from the anti-Islam protesters themselves, or at least implied it was right-wing terrorism. The narrative was clear: the victims (the anti-Islam demonstrators) were the real aggressors, and any violence against them was understandable “resistance.”
Then the truth dropped like a hammer.
The two perpetrators, Emir Balat, 18, and Ibrahim Kayumi, 19, are ISIS supporters who traveled from Pennsylvania with the explicit goal of carrying out an attack “bigger than the Boston Marathon bombing.” They told police they were acting in support of ISIS. The devices were real IEDs packed with TATP explosive, nails, and screws designed to maim and kill. Federal prosecutors have charged them with terrorism-related offenses, including attempting to support a foreign terrorist organization.
The bombs were thrown directly at the anti-Islam rally organized by far-right activist Jake Lang. The targets were the very people protesting Islamic influence in New York City.
But that didn’t stop the left from rushing to defend the narrative or the perpetrators.
The Initial Spin: Blame the Victims, Protect the Regime
In the immediate aftermath, Mayor Mamdani (New York’s first Muslim mayor) and aligned media described the incident in vague terms that strongly suggested right-wing violence. Some headlines and statements implied the anti-Islam protesters had brought the attack on themselves. Progressive commentators on social media openly speculated it was “fascists attacking counter-protesters” before any facts were known.
This is the same dishonest playbook we saw after the Venezuela raid and countless other incidents: when radical Islamists or leftists commit violence, the left’s first instinct is to blame conservatives, “Islamophobes,” or “white supremacists.” The Iranian diaspora celebrating the fall of the ayatollahs? Dismissed. Venezuelan exiles dancing in the streets after Maduro’s capture? Ignored or called “right-wing propaganda.”
The pattern is consistent: Protect the regime, smear the critics, and gaslight the public.
The Perpetrators: Sons of Recent Immigrants in a $2 Million Home
Adding insult to injury, the two young attackers lived with their parents, recent immigrants, in what appears to be a multimillion-dollar home in Pennsylvania. Far from being marginalized or oppressed, these individuals were raised in relative comfort while embracing the ideology of ISIS and attempting mass murder on American soil.
This detail makes the left’s rush to blame “white supremacists” even more grotesque. Once again, the real threat came from radicalized individuals tied to Islamic extremism, not the phantom “far-right” boogeyman the media loves to conjure.
The Aftermath: Truth Emerges, Left Scrambles
Once the ISIS connection and the perpetrators’ identities became public, the narrative collapsed. Federal charges were filed. The NYPD and FBI confirmed it was an “ISIS-inspired” terror attempt. Yet many on the left have remained silent or pivoted to “both sides” rhetoric, refusing to acknowledge that the bombers were counter-protesters attacking an anti-Islam rally.
This is the leftist mindset in 2026: Defend the ideology at all costs even when it means excusing attempted mass murder against Americans exercising their First Amendment rights.
The victims of this attack were peaceful protesters highlighting the dangers of Islamic influence in New York. They were met with bombs. And the left’s response? Blame the victims and protect the narrative.
At LeftistViolence.org, we refuse to let these stories be memory-holed. The left’s reflexive defense of regimes and radicals, whether in Iran, Venezuela, or the streets of New York, reveals their true priorities.
They don’t stand with the people. They stand with the ideology, no matter how much blood it spills.
